Model SP.eye - Single Device
SP.eye™ is a single device integrating a delivery guide, 30 gauge needle and sharps safe system to assist in the delivery of intravitreal injections. Developed by Ophthalmologists with extensive experience in intravitreal injection delivery, the award-winning device enhances the procedure and ensures excellent safety, precision and stability.
SP.eye™ can be used by any suitably qualified medical professional and is fully compatible with push-fit and luer-loc syringe systems. The needle guide is designed to be used on the adult general population. After use, the instrument can be locked safe and disposed of in a suitable sharps bin. SP.eye™ is the only intravitreal guide device with a fully integrated needle. Injection procedures using the SP.eye™ are faster and with improved patient satisfaction compared to other methods.
1. EASE OF USE
The instrument requires no assembly, reducing the number of steps required pre and during the procedure, and the integrated sharps system provides an efficient means of disposal.
2. PATIENT COMFORT
There is no risk of blunting the needle on the delivery guide wall which may lead to patient discomfort or inadvertently missing the guide hole and misplacing the injection
3. SINGLE-HANDED INJECTION
Acts as a lid guard, as well as an injection guide, enabling single-handed injection.
SP.eye™ may be used for any medication licensed for trans-pars plana injection into the eye using a 30 gauge needle. Conditions that can be treated with the device include:
- Wet age-related macular degeneration
- Diabetic macular oedema
- Macular oedema related to blood vessel blockage
