New England Tubing -Spiral Reinforced Tubing for Medical Applications
New England Tubing Technologies specializes in spiral reinforced tubing designed to augment hoop strength and modify flex characteristics, making it suitable for a range of applications, including medical. Our state-of-the-art, PLC controlled high-speed spiral winders are engineered to efficiently handle various sizes and types of tubing. We produced miniature tubing, as small as 0.66 mm, used predominantly in neurological applications, to larger diameters up to 9.0 mm for use in endoscopic devices aimed at gastrological procedures. Our capability to vary the spiral density throughout the tubing length allows customized flexibility features, catering to specific client requirements. Materials employed in the reinforcement include an assortment of round and flat stainless steel alloys, copper and its alloys, nitinol, and high-strength monofilament polymers. The advanced engineering also allows the integration of longitudinal members, further enhancing tensile and elongation attributes.
New England Tubing specializes in spiral reinforced tubing, typically used to improve hoop (crush) strength and change flex characteristics of tubing. Our in-house technical staff has designed and built our PLC controlled high speed spiral winders, capable of handling a wide range of tubes and sizes. We have manufactured miniature tubing (< 2Fr or 0.66 mm) used in neurological applications to larger tubing (up to 27Fr or 9.0 mm) used in endoscopy devices for gastrological procedures. We also have the ability to change the density of the spiral over one length which provides varying levels of flexibility throughout that individual piece.
As with braid reinforced tubes, New England Tubing can add a longitudinal member to a spiral reinforced tube which again modifies its tensile and elongation properties. Our team has experience with a wide array of materials used for spiral reinforcing ranging from flat or round stainless steel alloys to high strength monofilament polymers.
