Design, designation, use
The rego grids consist of edge-on lead lamellae arranged in rows. A distinction is made in principle between parallel grids and focused grids in which the lamellae are directed towards a certain distance above the centre of the grid.
The focused grids offer very high picture quality but set high requirements with regard to centring and focusing. They are available for all focusing distances (fo) and in different ratios.
The parallel grids do not set such high requirements with regard to centring and focusing as focused grids but do not achieve the desired homogeneous image quality of the focused grids, particularly in the case of small focusing distances (< 1 m) and large cassette formats (> 24 x 30 cm).
Preferred applications: pictures while a patient is in bed, accident wards. Grids with different numbers of lines (numbers of lead lamellae per cm) and different ratios are used depending on the application.
The rego grids are focused or parallel available in all film formats (cm and inch).
e.g. grid for lung X-rays: Special insert grid Type 40/8 parallel 35 x 43 cm =
parallel grid for insertion in X-ray cassettes, film format 35 x 43 cm, grid has a ratio of 8:1 and 40 lines/cm, lines are parallel to the length of 43 cm*.
* Unless stated otherwhise on the order, the grid is in principle produced with the lamellae orientation parallel to the longer side.
Rego-grids from 60 lp/cm are also suitable for digital X-Ray when using cassettes with imaging plates from Fuji and Kodak, among others.
They can be used as slip-on grids or outsides grids. Large outside grids (e.g. 35 x 84, 35 x 124 cm) for the taking of images on a vertical stand are installed in carbon fibre frames, the tube side being protected by a carbon fibre covering.
The grids are placed in front of the cassettes in the cassette holder, this then being placed in the vertical stand (see illustration).
