rapid
the positive reaction is generally evident after 15-30 seconds

accurate
the sensitized reagents are specific for the single groups and do not give any cross reactions

easy interpretation
agglutination of the white latex on the black reaction slide facilitates reading of the results

complete
the kit contains all the materials necessary for the execution of the test, including positive and negative controls

Classification of streptococci according to Lancefield, on the basis of specific polysaccharide antigens, after chemical extraction from the colony.

The test utilizes the agglutination between the specific streptococcal antigen and the specific serum adsorbed on the latex. If the sample shows a negative reaction with the latexes of Groups A, B, C, D, F and G, enzymatic extraction is performed and tested with the Group D latex.
