CIVCO - Ultrasound System Drapes
Ultrasound system drapes are offered in a range of sizes and configurations to be placed over equipment. System drapes help prevent the transfer of microorganisms, body fluids, and particulate material to the patient and healthcare worker and protect the integrity of the equipment. Adhesive tape strips are included with each ultrasound machine drape and allow the cover to be easily secured to the system during the procedure.
Clinical claims against the product are substantiated through Design Control. Post-Market Clinical Data, with respect to claims, will be documented below as applicable.
- Scientific literature states drapes prevent transfer of microorganisms from nonsterile to sterile areas, sterile drapes should be placed on the patient, furniture, and equipment to be included in the sterile field.1
- Use of sterile drapes, sterile probe covers, and sterile ultrasound gel may provide the best method to reduce the risk of contamination and infection.2
Available non-sterile or sterile. Sterile ultrasound system drapes provide a wide sterile field during ultrasound procedures at the patient’s bedside, operating room, and wherever an expanded sterile field is required.
