AMReady (2021-2024): “Development and manufacturing of vaccines for alleviation and preparedness fot anti-mirobial resistance global health crisis” is a project founded by the competitive program Líneas Estratégicas de Colaboración Público-Privada 2021 of the State Research Agency of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, in the Recovery and Resilience Plan co- financed with Next Generation UE Funds. AMReady is a very complete consortium of institutions led by Vaxdyn and formed by the Barcelona-based international pharmaceutical manufacturer Laboratorio Reig Jofre and top groups in inmmunology and infectious disease of the National Microbiology Center (CNM) of the Spanish Institutes of Health “Carlos III” (ISCIII) in Madrid, the University of Cordoba and the Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine “López Neyra” of the CSIC in Granada.
In this project we are providing solutions in two major fronts. First, the major source of antibiotic resistance is the extensive use of antibiotics for prevention of respiratory diseases in livestock. And second, there are human populations with recurrent infections now caused by antibiotic-resistant pathogens.
