CHSG -Mental Health First Aid Two Day Courses
The Mental Health First Aid Course is ideal for individuals you want to become Mental Health First Aiders and will be delivered 2 consecutive, face-to-face sessions. Mental Health First Aid Training, certified by MHFA England.
Numbers on this course are limited to 16 to ensure that learners are engaged and kept safe and supported throughout the course. All learners will receive a digital copy of the MHFA Manual and a hard copy of the Workbook and Action Plan. You can request hard copies of the manual if you would prefer.
Upon successful completion of this course, Mental Health First Aiders will become members of MHFA England for 3 years with access to the MHFAE Online Learning Hub, the CPD within, and the MHFAider Support App.
The Mental Health First Aid Course will qualify you as a Mental Health First Aider once successfully completed. Learning takes place through a mix of presentation, group discussions, film clips and activities. The aims of Mental Health First Aid are:
- To preserve life where a person may be at risk of harm to themselves or others
- Provide help to prevent poor mental health from becoming more serious
- Promote recovery from poor mental health
- Provide comfort to a person with poor mental health
This course is ideal for those interested in becoming a Mental Health First Aider. The role of the Mental Health First Aider includes; encouraging early intervention, providing non-judgemental listening, signposting to other services and responding to a mental health crisis. It is important that Mental Health First Aiders are clear on their role, the boundaries of this role and also how to promote wellbeing within their organisations.
The course is delivered over 2 consecutive face-to-face sessions, and the number of delegates on the course is limited to 16 to ensure that learners are engaged and kept safe and supported.
All learners receive a digital copy of the MHFA Manual and a hard copy of the Workbook and Action Plan. You can request a hard copy of the manual if you would prefer.
At the end of the second session, once all learning requirements have been met, you will be asked to complete feedback before e-certificates are issued.
Full attendance of the sessions is required for certification.
It is critical that you register in advance of the course start date to ensure that you have the necessary resources to attend and complete the course.
By completing this course and becoming a Mental Health First Aider you will:
- Become a member of Mental Health First Aid England for 3 years
- Gain access to the Mental Health First Aid England Online Learning Hub where you can access CPD, for 3 years
- Gain access to the Mental health First Aider Support App for 3 years
- Have a Mental Health First Aid course manual to reference at any point
- Have a workbook used to support your learning throughout the course
- Have a wallet-sized Action Card with the MHFA action plan on it.
