About Resilience Training

Everyone’s mental health is constantly changing. When life is going well, you feel good and see the world in a brighter light. This multi-module course explores a range of issues relevant to living a mentally healthy life, including: how our mental health constantly fluctuates, what habits support better mental health and which don’t. It also covers how social media and social interactions affect us and the importance of sleep, diet, and exercise.

Why Is Resilience Training Important?

Mental health is a growing issue in workplaces across the UK. It is a key determinant for overall health. In addition, workplace stress and related mental health issues contribute to a variety of illnesses such as diabetes, back pain and eating disorders.

One in six people experience mental health problems in the workplace. And some 12.7% of sickness absence days in Great Britain are attributed to poor mental health, according to the Health and Safety Executive.

This amounted to 17.9 million working days lost due to mental health issues in the most recent year that data was available. That is an average of 21.6 days per incident. Anxiety and depression were behind 51% of work-related cases of illness and 55% of lost working days.

There were 828,000 work-related cases of stress and depression. This marks an increase from the previous year of 347,000 cases.
