Preparing the Mask:
Step 1: Cut a strip of SpiderTech kinesiology tape 5 rows in length.
Step 2: Fold and score the strip down the middle and place aside.
Step 3: Cut a piece of tissue paper or paper towel into 3” x 3” piece.
Step 4: Fold back the release liner of the tape and place a 3” x 3” piece of paper towel in the middle.
Protective Layer Application instructions - Place the SpiderTech Gentle Mini i-STRIPS on your face like in the video.
Step 1: Apply 1 SpiderTech Gentle mini i-STRIP centered on the bridge of your nose
Step 2 (Optional): Apply 1 SpiderTech Gentle Mini i-STRIPS around your cheek and under your chin like a chin strap. Repeat on the other cheek and under your chin.
Applying the mask:
Step 1: Apply the mask by placing and gently dabbing the top of the mask onto the SpiderTech Gentle Mini i-STRIP on the bridge of your nose. WITHOUT any stretching, remove the paper liner as you dab the kinesiology strip on your face.
Step 2: Apply the remainder of the mask by dabbing the sides and bottom of the strip onto the SpiderTech Gentle Mini i-STRIP forming a beak at the bottom of the mask over your mouth and chin. Remember do not stretch the tape, just let it fit comfortably around your mouth and nose.
When ready to dispose of, simply remove the mask from one end and roll it off your face and replace it as needed.
The supply of N95 and surgical masks is at a critical low throughout the world due to COVID-19.
Using kinesiology tape material, we offer an alternative to this supply issue.
Since SpiderTech kinesiology tape is made from breathable cotton, they can also be worn under any other masks as well for additional skin protection. These face masks can also be used at home, to run errands, and/or while you're at work. This is not FDA or HC approved and is not an N95 mask
The CDC suggests, “In settings where facemasks are not available, HCP might use homemade masks (e.g., bandana, scarf) for the care of patients with COVID-19 as a last resort. However, homemade masks are not considered PPE, since their capability to protect HCP is unknown..”
