Drop-in gamma probe for minimally-invasive and robotic cancer surgery from Lightpoint Medical.

SENSEI® is a probe designed to help surgeons find cancer more accurately.
Before surgery, patients are injected with a cancer-targeted drug that binds to cancerous tissue. SENSEI® is then inserted into the patient using a standard laparoscopic port and manoeuvred by tissue graspers to scan inside the patient. When scanning tissue, the console provides audio feedback to the surgeon. This feedback helps the surgeon to locate specifically where the cancer is in real time. Cancer can then be removed and healthy tissue retained. SENSEI® is designed to be used with tissue graspers, offering multi-grip orientations for maximum agility and unprecedented access. The probe’s side pockets provide a safe location for needle drivers to grip and reorient the device quickly. With articulation through six degrees of freedom, surgeons can navigate complex anatomical locations with ease and confidence. SENSEI® aims to support cancer surgeons to more effectively evaluate the surgical field, supporting them to make the best decisions for patients.
