R:GEN selectively targets and causes the mechanical disruption of RPE cells without damaging photoreceptors. The R:GEN treated areas stimulate regeneration of healthy RPE cells. Through R:GEN's proprietary treatment it does not cause thermal damage to the neural retina, adjacent photoreceptors or choroid, which used to pose as a treatment challenge.
