SANSOM - Safe Anaesthesia for Somaliland - Partnerships for Progress - Video
The SANSOM project for safe anaesthesia for Somaliland was born out of the collaboration of five international partners. Nurse anaesthetists trained by Clinical Professor Mark Newton from Kijabe Hospital in Kenya met together for a conference at the Edna Adan Hospital in Hargeisa. This site was central to the success of the project, a factor recognised by all concerned. With funding from Australia's DAK Foundation and the UK's Safe Anaesthesia Worldwide charity, Diamedica UK Ltd also played a key role supplying much-needed medical equipment and training.
