The Bambach Saddle Seat: The story
Mary Gale, an Australian occupational therapist spent many years working with children and adults with bodily restrictions. Her therapeutic concept included exercise in the fresh air and equine-assisted therapy, and she noticed something astonishing:

Children, who were bodily restricted and could not sit on a chair unaided, were able to sit in a saddle on the back of a horse without needing any help at all. Her extensive research proved that sitting on a horse is very natural and back-friendly

It was then that Mary Gale made the fascinating idea of a more natural and optimized sitting position her purpose in life and began developing a saddle seat

The Bambach Saddle Seat: Development
Today`s typical "modern chairs" are still based on ancient models. Any flat seat, however, puts the lumbar vertebrae into an economically unfavorable position. The hip slightly slumps and pushes the lumbar vertebrae into an unnatural curve or C-shaped line.

Energy blockade, tensions and resulting pains are inevitable when sitting a lot and for longer periods (in the car, in a plane, in the office, and at work). It limits our abdominal breathing, there is less oxygen in our blood, our digestion is impaired, and our performance decreases.

Scientific research into conventional chairs and healthy, proper sitting in combination with Mary Gale`s own experiences led to the development design patenting and professional production of the original Bambach9 Saddle Seat.
