BMSEED is a manufacturer of research equipment that replicates in vitro, stretch-induced neurotrauma (e.g. TBI, SCI) for high-content screening of treatment therapies and injury mechanisms in academic research and pharmaceutical settings. The critical technology is our elastically stretchable microelectrode arrays, which remain electrically functional upon the controlled stretch induced by our tool. Our platform is the first and only neurotrauma model that enables the direct comparison of electrophysiological activity (i.e., health & function) of healthy cells pre-injury to damaged cells post-injury, thus revolutionizing the assessment of neuroprotective treatments. BMSEED was named one of the Top 500 startups by the 2016 Hello Tomorrow Challenge.
