Chembio Diagnostics Germany (CDG) is a Berlin-based German subsidiary of Chembio Diagnostic Systems (CDS), Inc. based in Haupauge (NY, USA). Originally founded in 2005 as opTricon - Development Company for optical Technologies by Lutz Melchior and Volker Plickert, the company became part of the Chembio family in November 2018. Focus of activities is the development, production and marketing of customized reading devices for the evaluation of immunological rapid tests. Initially started as a service provider for the development of opto-electronic systems, the company today focuses on the OEM business for easy-to-use readers and software solutions as customer-specific products.
