Human Papilloma virus (HPV) is a DNA virus, which causes one of most common cancer called cervical cancer among the women. It is known to cause also warts on hands and many parts of the body e.g. throat leading to painful operations in some cases. HPV has more than 100 genotypes. There is hardly any treatment available except removal of warts from the body as cryotherapies. There are some therapies available to remove these viruses from genital tract, which may be such as podophyllin solution, podophyllotoxin alcohol solution or cream, cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen etc. However creating an immune response may be a possible way of developing therapy that body rejects the genital tract lesions later on. A vaccine against 16 and 18 is available, but it is doubtful whether it can provide immunity against other many genotypes involved in cervical cancer. There is a need to do a lot of research work here to create a therapeutic choices.
