Description:Sodium iodoacetate is a specific inhibitor of GAPDH and has glycolysis inhibitory activity. In addition, sodium iodoacetate can induce osteoarthritis and related pain models in experimental animals.
In Vivo:Sodium iodoacetate (0, 0.3 and 3 mg/joint; injected into the right knee joint space; single dose injection) causes proliferation and moderate fibrosis of synovial cells in Wistar rats, accompanied by mild inflammatory cell infiltration[3].
