Glutamate Biosensor

SHARE

Pinnacle offers a GLUTAMATE BIOSENSOR that is capable of providing real-time changes in glutamate concentration in the brains of rodents. The glutamate biosensor has outstanding performance characteristics and rejects all common electroactive interferents, including ascorbate. It has a linear range of at least 50 uM. We have successfully demonstrated that the glutamate biosensor works in vivo and can provide continuous monitoring of brain glutamate concentration changes for up to 36 hours. This biosensor is warrantied for 21 days from time of shipment.

Pinnacle`s glutamate biosensor functions by the enzyme-mediated processing of the analyte of interest. This results in the production of hydrogen peroxide that is then detected by oxidation at a Pt-Ir electrode. Electroactive interferents present in the brain are excluded via a passive selective membrane and through active removal when necessary.

LINEAR... SELECTIVE... FAST...

Pinnacle biosensors are selective for the analyte of interest and are linear at normal in vivo oxygenation levels over a physiologically relevant range, as shown in the diagrams below.

BIOSENSOR CALIBRATION

In order to relate the current changes measured by a biosensor to actual changes in analyte concentration, it is necessary to calibrate the biosensor at the conclusion of an experiment. The process also confirms the integrity and selectivity of the sensors. Pinnacle offers a number of in vitro calibration systems that allow the simultaneous calibration of four to eight biosensors. Select the calibration kit that matches the hardware system and cannula type used in your experimental setup.
