The PIO Walking Simulator is specifically designed for orthopedic rehabilitation to assist patients in synchronizing their movements for improved coordination while exercising upright. This sophisticated device enables patients to exercise their lower limbs through a mechanism involving hand-operated levers, effectively stabilizing them in an optimal position. The PIO apparatus facilitates necessary weight-bearing activities, crucial for the proper movement of hips, knees, and tarsal joints, thereby promoting synchronized motions simulating a natural gait. By integrating passive lower limb exercise with active upper limb and body workout, it ensures a nearly natural load on the muscular and skeletal systems. This holistic approach contributes significantly to the rehabilitation process by enhancing joint movement, muscle coordination, and overall physical function.
The patient exercises lower limbs synchronically with levers moved by hands through a special mechanism. The PIO apparatus stabilises the patient in the correct position. Provides necessary weight bearing important for proper movement of hips, knees and tarsal joints which promotes synchronised movements simulating natural gait. It combines passive exercising of lower limbs with active exercising of the upper limbs and body with nearly natural load put on the muscular and skeletal system.
